At Glen Nevis Restaurant, we believe in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all our guests. As part of our commitment to enhancing communication and understanding, we are excited to introduce our new initiative: the British Sign Language (BSL) Phrase of the Week.

Promoting Inclusivity

Our team is dedicated to making everyone feel at home, and this new initiative is a step towards greater inclusivity. Each week, all our staff members will learn a new BSL phrase. This effort, led by our Learning and Development Champion Lauren and Assistant Manager Carol, aims to improve our ability to communicate with deaf and hard-of-hearing customers, ensuring they have a positive and enjoyable experience at our restaurant.

Learning Together

From greetings to common phrases used in dining, our staff will be continuously expanding their BSL vocabulary. This collective learning experience not only enhances our service but also fosters a deeper sense of teamwork and empathy among our staff. We believe that by learning together, we can better serve our community and create a more inclusive atmosphere for everyone.

Connecting with Our Community

We are proud to be part of the Glen Nevis community and are always looking for ways to connect more deeply with our guests. By incorporating BSL into our daily interactions, we hope to break down communication barriers and show our support for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. We encourage our customers to engage with us in this learning journey and share any suggestions for phrases they would like to see featured.

A Weekly Highlight

Guests can look forward to learning these phrases alongside our team, promoting a shared experience of growth and understanding. Our goal is to make BSL a regular part of our interactions, enriching the dining experience for all our guests.

Join Us in Learning

We invite everyone to join us in this initiative. Whether you are a regular visitor or a first-time guest, we hope you will enjoy learning and using BSL phrases with our team. Together, we can create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
